On 14 May 2026, I recorded episode 108 of my iAntonio Media – Living the Language (traditional RSS audio podcast). The episode was inspired by an article titled “Ai can give answers, but the future belongs to students who can think beyond the machine”, written by Ashish Dhawan and Pramath Raj Sinha. The article argues that Ai may now provide answers with astonishing speed, but the quality of those answers still depends on the human ability to ask, frame, constrain, and judge.
Am 14. Mai 2026 habe ich Episode 108 meines Podcasts iAntonio Media – Living the Language aufgenommen (klassischer RSS-Audio-Podcast). Ausgelöst wurde sie durch einen Artikel mit dem Titel: „Ai can give answers, but the future belongs to students who can think beyond the machine“ – von Ashish Dhawan und Pramath Raj Sinha. Der Text argumentiert im Kern, dass Ai heute zwar mit erstaunlicher Geschwindigkeit Antworten liefern kann – die Qualität dieser Antworten jedoch weiterhin davon abhängt, wie Menschen fragen, einordnen, begrenzen und urteilen.
No teacher can guarantee that learning will happen. What matters is the learning environment a tool creates: does it outsource thinking, or does it keep students actively engaged? A reflective piece on learning design, ownership, and evaluation, beyond hype and fear.
Keine Lehrkraft kann garantieren, dass Lernen passiert. Entscheidend ist, welche Lernumgebung ein Tool schafft: Wird Denken ausgelagert, oder bleiben Schülerinnen und Schüler aktiv bei der Sache? Ein reflektierender Text über Lern-Design, Ownership und Evaluation, jenseits von Hype und Angst.
Many parents book a trial lesson with good intentions. You want a feel for it: Does the person fit? Does your child feel understood? Does it all sound competent?
But with the English Abitur, a good feeling does not automatically lead to a good result. Points are not earned because someone “explains well,” but because a text becomes visibly better – clearer, more structured, more controlled. And that is exactly what you can test surprisingly well in a trial lesson, if you don’t assess the personality, but the product of the session.
Viele Eltern buchen eine Probestunde in guter Absicht. Man will ein Gefühl bekommen: Passt die Person? Fühlt sich das Kind verstanden? Klingt das Ganze nach Kompetenz?
Nur: Beim Englisch-Abitur ist ein gutes Gefühl nicht automatisch ein gutes Ergebnis. Punkte entstehen nicht dadurch, dass jemand „gut erklärt“, sondern dadurch, dass ein Text sichtbar besser wird – klarer, strukturierter, kontrollierter. Und genau das lässt sich in einer Probestunde überraschend gut prüfen, wenn man nicht die Persönlichkeit testet, sondern das Produkt der Stunde.
Wenn Feedback nicht messbar ist, bleibt Fortschritt Gefühlssache.
Viele Eltern, mit denen ich spreche, zweifeln nicht an der Intelligenz ihres Kindes. Woran sie zweifeln, ist, ob sich der Aufwand in Ergebnissen niederschlägt.
